At its Friday August 19 luncheon, the Lake Zurich Rotary Club and community members will hear a powerful wake-up call from Bill Gentes, the county’s point person on substance abuse about the proliferation of the problem in Lake County and what we can do about it.

“Trends in Drug & Alcohol Abuse: What we know, and what we want to know!” will provide an overview of substance abuse among both teens and adults in Lake County. Things that will be discussed, are binge drinking, prescription drug abuse, heroin, and marijuana.

You are welcome to bring guests to this informative seminar.

Bill Gentes is the Project Coordinator for the Lake County Underage Drinking and Drug Prevention Task Force hosted by the Lake County Health Department. The Task Force was the leader in passage of the aggressive statewide social host law that became law in 2013, as well as numerous state laws in 2014. Bill was given the 2014 CADCA National Advocate of the Year for his work with federal and state officials.
