On Friday, Thom Black will talk to us about the publishing phenomenon that is Harry Moon, a best-selling series of books for readers 8 - 12 years old. They are specifically designed to help dyslexic and other poor readers enjoy reading for fun. "The Adventures of Harry Moon" takes place in a town where it is always Halloween and Harry gradually learns how to help the townspeople. Thom, a motivational speaker, is visiting us so we can explore how our literacy program might dovetail with his. We'll also be hearing about the road to publishing for these books.
